My 5 year old wanted a mohawk. He didn't get it, we had a wedding coming up, but being xjw's, it was now an option. I hate the look personally, but hubby said, if he really wanted one, what would be the harm to have one for the summer? No real harm. He just saw one on a teenager and thought it would be fun.
That being my personal opinion on the hairstyle, I will now tell you how flabberghasted I am at your comment to manipulate your son and daughter-in-law and cause unnecessary and hurtful grief to your grandchildren. Are you really going to "shun/disfellowship" them from you over hair? My God. They are little kids. This kind of behavior is not love. This is selfishness. You are lucky to get to enjoy their hugs and kisses on a regular basis. They grow up so fast! And you are willing to sacrifice that and your future relationship with them over whether or not you can pitch a big enough fit and get your way? Whether you like it or not, their father has allowed it. It is none of your business. You seem more preoccupied with what strangers in public (shopping) think than you do your own flesh and blood.
Sorry this is harsh. But it is one thing to have an opinion, express it in a loving manner, and back off. It is quite another to try to dictate others harmless (if ugly) hairstyles. Will they do the same to you if you publically embarrass them by putting pink flamingos in your flowerbed?

My story- Here goes!
by Younglove1999 ini've just been writing away the past few days about my thoughts and feelings since my husband and i decided to finally call it quits and stop going to meetings.
in fact, he's the one who told me about this website.
he's a lurker though, so i don't think any have heard from him.

Awesome!
Welcome! It was nice reading your story. I am glad you both left together too! My hubby had mentally left months before I actually finally left. When you are scared to leave you would actually view that phone call as, "Maybe Jehovah is trying to save me and he is using this elder. I shouldn't have been on this website." The fear and paranoia are immense! So glad to see it isn't gripping you! It is just a funny happening! Happiness and blessings to you and your little family!

P.S. Your daughter will never have to be the odd one in class, and you will never have to miss any of her birthdays! I remember our daughter's first birthday was so hard to not celebrate. It broke my heart more than I ever could have thought! She finally got to celebrate on her 7th birthday! And it has been so much fun! (Our neighbors helped us celebrate the first one and break us in! A brother showed up on our doorstep as they were leaving at 9pm and we just finished the cake! Ugh! No, it was not the holyspirit, unless it was trying to show how crazy it is to be in fear of living your life!) -

Easy Field Service time, oh yeah baby!
by monophonic ini hope these images work below.. i was at the laundermat, watching this lady do her "street witnessing".
these photos were actually the most attentive she was b/c she was wondering what the hell i was doing taking photos of her.. for the hour i watched her, she talked to nobody.
when i walked by earlier i made eye contact and smiled and she avoided my eyes.

I've seen that here too. It makes me so sad. They are always elderly and sitting in the shade, on a bench at the strip mall. They usually are just holding a magazine. I saw one older man just had a large bible. If I hadn't known what to look for, I would have no idea what they were doing either. I have never seen them talk to anyone. Just sit there. It is so sad.

The First 2007 Christmas Thread.... countdown is T-minus 119 days...
by AK - Jeff ini am starting to think about the joyous season already - i know, i know, i am way too early.
it is still summer in the northern hemisphere, school has only just gotten started, and the leaves haven't even turned yet.
still - i suppose i have catching up to do.

Already started here too!
Got some ornaments at our special christmas store in June on vacation.
The kids and I have already put in christmas cd's on the way to school to listen to. Nothing like singing rudolph the red nose reindeer in 100 degree heat!
I already bought a stocking stuffer for our daughter.
Hubby is buying me a camera to start my photography business, he is rolling my birthday and christmas into one (and a few other things that got skipped or returned). That will be mine within a month! YEA! I can hardly wait!
The local hobby shop has tons of christmas decorations out already, and the kids and I have looked at them about 3 times already.
The kids are picking out their miniature christmas tree ornaments there and dreaming about which ones they will pick to put a tiny tree in each of their bedrooms.
I am looking for ornaments and at the small trees for an office tree for hubby.
I have a stocking to make and decorate. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
I already bought the Paula Deen holiday magazine issue, so I can whip up a few new desserts and make us all a little more fluffy!
I painted my front bench red (the porch is green) and am looking for a few cute pillows for christmas to accent it!
Let's just say I am a bit obsessed! LOL -

My Sister's Visit
by Sunspot inmost of you know that my family disowned me in 1972 when i was baptized into the wts.
i have only one sibling, a kid sister .
i was thrilled, but nervous, not having a clue how things would go and trying to keep in mind all the things i should not say as well as things i was eager to find out about, concerning the rest of the family i have had no contact with.. the moment we laid eyes on each other (and recovered frm the gigundo hug), it all went just great!!!
